The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano is one of the best ever GT super cars. It’s fitted with a detuned version of the famed 6.0 litre V12 Enzo engine. This produces a staggering 620bhp: the 0 to 60 time of 3.7 seconds is about the fastest of any production car.
The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano is a strict two-seater; it shares the same aluminium chassis as the 612. It is important to note though, that the F1 shift was much improved in the 599. It’s still not as foolproof as a regular full auto, but the shifts are much smoother than some F430 buyers fear. It was introduced to replace the mighty 575M Maranello and was unveiled in 2006. It is the brand’s two seat flagship, and has long been much in demand.
Ferrari has since developed a ‘Handling GT Evoluzione’ upgrade package. This new chassis setup is stiffer and sportier, with new hi-tech tyres fitted to a stand-out design of 20-inch alloy wheel. The exhaust is louder and even more beguiling; the interior finished in carbon fibre and the gearbox was improved yet again, with faster shift times and a smoother action. In all, it’s a fantastic car and will be in much demand.
As our research into service prices reveal, maintaining these models needn’t be too onerous, either. New Ferraris also, admirably, have a four year manufacturer warranty. It’s insurance that’s the biggie. It’s twice the price of a Bentley Continental GT.
Now, the 599 GTO has arrived. This is the first Ferrari GTO since the 288 GTO of the 1980s, and brings back the famed GTO name made iconic by the 250 GTO. It is the fastest-ever road going Ferrari and is a very extreme machine if it drives as well as the initial evidence suggests, it could give a lift to the entire 599 range, and particularly those HG TE versions.
