Hyundai Used Cars- The Tiburon

on

Yes Believe it not Hyundai does have a sports car in there fleet of different models it sells to the North American market place and it’s called The Tiburon. Hyundai used cars like the Tiburon is a two-door hatchback coupe, which is designed with sleek lines and a sporty feel to it. The Hyundai Tiburon is classified as a two seated roadster that provides affordable fun in a class of vehicles that include the Mini Cooper, Mazda MX-5, Nissan 350z Scion tC and the Ford Mustang. My research will be on the Hyundai Tiburon as a used vehicle to look at.

The 2007 Tiburon is a sporty hatchback coupe that comes in four different trims. Some of the standard equipment that comes with the Tiburon are traction control, antiskid control, sport suspension, larger brakes, ABS brakes and front side air bags. The GS, GT and GT limited models come with a five-speed manual transmission or an optional four-speed automatic transmission. The SE model comes only with a six-speed manual transmission. The 2007 models had some design changes to the tail lights, bumpers hood and front fender. The GT limited and the SE model come standard with leather upholstery.

There are several different fuel statistics from 2003 to 2007 for the various transmissions and engine sizes that the Tiburon offers. The four-cylinder models have a fuel rating of 10-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 7-litres, per 100km, for highway driving. The V6 models had a fuel rating of 12-litres, per 100km for city driving and 8.3-litres, per 100km, for highway driving. The six€”speed manual transmission got a fuel rating of 13-litre, per 100km, for city driving and an 8.3-litre, per 100km for highway driving.

There are several different engine sizes for the Tiburon from the years 2003 to 2007. The base model uses a four-cylinder, 2.0-litre engine, which has 134 horsepower. The V6, 2.7-litre engine has 170 horsepower. There is also a turbocharged engine available with its higher end model.

Let’s look at some of the pros and cons of the Hyundai Tiburon as a used car:

1- 2003 models got a bad rating for reliability from a leading online consumer watch dog as a used vehicle.
2- In some of the web forums i visited about the Tiburon, there are many complaints of the clutch wearing down to fast.
3- The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave it a five star rating for a frontal crash test in driver protection.

I hope this helps if you’re thinking of buying a used Hyundai Tiburon.
