Providence: BMW 5 Series, M5 Concept Released

on

The end of April saw the end of the Shanghai Motor Show but the beginning of the latest BMW M5 concept. The vehicle, which took a sabbatical for the 2010 model year, is back in full force and from the initial looks of it the BMW M5 is better than ever. The vehicle is the epitome of luxury coupled with top of the line performance. The result is a vehicle that is for only the most serious automobile enthusiasts. All faux enthusiasts should step aside.
From tip to tip, the 2012 BMW M5 is one sleek looking vehicle. The price tag on this baby is a red hot $100,000 and the vehicle looks like it is worth every penny – a characteristic that is hard to come by these days. The overall look of the vehicle is classically BMW but with a few chic upgrades. To start, the tail end of the vehicle rises slightly and takes the line of a thin curve where other BMW vehicles finish in a box-like shape. A strong front grille with intense LED headlights and three shapely air vents below complete the look of this vehicle.
What sits underneath the hood of the vehicle, however, is what really excites the automobile enthusiasts. The 2012 BMW M5, which is expected to be on local Providence BMW 5 Series dealer’s lot as part of the Rhode Island leasing program, features a 4.4-liter V8 engine with twin turbo power. This engine is a change from the previous BMW M5, which sported a 5.0-liter V10 engine. Despite the slightly smaller engine, the latest version of this performance car can still move with the best of them.
The smaller engine actually provides drivers of the new BMW M5 with 52 more horsepower than the old model’s larger engine did. The difference in power is due to the addition of the turbocharge. Albert Biermann, BMW M’s head of research and development explained, “Turbocharging provides more power and performance but with better fuel economy and emissions.” Theoretically, this vehicle has the ability to reach top speeds of 180 miles per hour, but drivers will only experience a top speed of 150 miles per hour. Regardless, current residents of BMW 5 Series drivers need not worry about hindered performance should they choose to upgrade to the 2012 model of the BMW M5 through the Rhode Island leasing program.
The price of the BMW M5 is high, but nearly every feature anyone would desire in a vehicle is standard on the model, making the price more understandable. Such features include leather seating with ten-way adjustable driver and passenger seating with driver seat memory, push-button start technology, and heated side-view mirrors, just to name a few. Additionally, the vehicle comes with a navigation system and Bluetooth connectivity.
For the automobile enthusiasts among us, there is really no better vehicle on the market (or soon to be on the market) than the 2012 BMW M5. Although the vehicle released at the Shanghai Auto Show was only a concept, the production version is expected to be nearly identical, inside and out. Expect to see this vehicle on your favorite BMW dealer lot by early next year.
