The New Land Rover: Setting New Standards As Off-Roader

on

The new Land Rover models are on fast gear. According to a report, the current wait on some of the models is six to nine months. Things are worse in China where full tilt Range Rovers are selling at astronomical premiums.

With crushing demands on their hands, the Land Rover manufacturers are unable to cope up with the requirements. According to some reports, the factory at Solihull, U.K. where Land Rover makes are built, is running around the clock, seven days a week, but still is not able to cope up with supplies.

The Land Rover line-ups include FREELANDER 2, RANGE ROVER EVOQUE, DISCOVERY 4, and RANGE ROVER SPORT.

As Ford is now struggling with its only brand Lincoln, one wonders whether the company is feeling the remorse of getting rid of Land Rover to Indian auto maker Tata Motors.

The new Land Rover 2103 is an exceptional fourth generation car boasting of the same good attributes of previous versions but with a big plus of being a massive 700 lb lighter.

By far, in matters of luxury and performance, the Range Rover stands a cut above rest.

The workhorse of 2103 Range Rover is still the 375-horsepower V8 and 510 HP supercharged that has made no alteration but the performance is a notch up due to incredible shedding of weight.

Motorists still insist that off-road this car is the benchmark against which all other models must be evaluated.

The all-new Land Rover has an all-aluminum monocoque body structure, the first SUV ever to make use of such technology.

Monocoque is a structural approach that supports load or all major stresses through external skin.

According to the company’s Global Brand Director, the new Range Rover preserves the vital unique character of the vehicle-a special blend of luxury, comfort, and unsurpassable all-terrain capability.

One of the unique selling propositions of this vehicle is its Terrain Response System. This system allows driver to select one from several modes to optimize driving on a variety of different surfaces.

The vehicle senses and adjusts to the appropriate combination of terrain response settings.

The basis of Terrain Response is the buttons or knobs that custom handle the vehicles’ sophisticated traction control system, transmission, and downhill decent to the type of terrain it comes across.

The 2103 Range Rover also includes an auto mode that controls parameters based on what it senses.

To be true, these systems do not substitute driving safely and with due care do not function under all conditions of speed, weather, and road undulations.

Traditionalists may still consider a simple mechanical system that relies on driver’s skill as the best bet on uneven terrains, but cars anyway have to enter the 21st century with high technology.

In this regard, the new Land Rover with its Terrain Response System has taken the car’s class leading status to new levels in performance.

Hopefully, we should see positive feedback from drivers on challenging off-road conditions, such as mud, snow, and sand.

Jaguar Land Rover dealers with new models and Jaguar parts should see brisk business in the forthcoming months.
