The Super-Fast 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR

on

Land Rover is one of the most well-known SUV vehicle makers in the world. They have built a long tradition of building some of the very best SUVs on the marketing today, with the Range Rover standing as its base model that is sold as a luxury model in almost every major market. However, the Range Rover has always been a larger SUV, designed more for off-roading and style purposes over other necessary looks. Land Rover used this model as its flagship, but in 2006, it decided to offer Range Rover lovers something a bit different by releasing the Range Rover Sport. This initial vehicle proved incredibly popular as it had a powerful engine and a design that could turn heads as well. With the 2010 model, it launched with a V-8, 4.4 liter engine that produced 300 horsepower and 315 pound feet of torque, with the supercharged version increased to 390 horsepower and 410 pound feet of torque. However, with the announcement of the brand new 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR, Land Rover now has a new, ultra-fast version that is set to hit the showroom in the coming months.

While not all of the specifications for the 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR have been released, it will feature an engine with 550 horsepower. The 5.0 liter supercharged V-8 engine is giving this sporty SUV all sorts of improvements, both in horsepower and sheer speed. In fact, the 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR is able to move from zero to 60 in 4.5 seconds, which not only is incredibly fast for such a large SUV, but for any car in general. It has a top speed of 162 miles per hour and is now one of the fastest SUVs on the planet. The 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR is also going to feature an eight speed automatic. This provides for faster shifting inside of the SUV and improves fuel economy. In fact, the fuel economy in the automatic transmission is better than a manual.

Of course, Land Rover still built itself as a sport utility vehicle, so unlike many of the other speed SUVs out there from the likes of Porsche and Mercedes, the 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR still comes with a selection of nice off-road options. It comes with a two-speed transfer case that is going to provide up to 100 percent of the torque to either the front or rear axle, depending on what is required. By shifting the transfer case, a driver can improve towing and pushing capabilities of the vehicle, plus they are able to do this while the vehicle is on the move at speeds of up to 37 miles per hour.

Land Rover is taking orders for the 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR starting in October and it is set to hit showroom floors around the beginning of next year. For anyone who is looking for both performance, luxury and off-roading capabilities, the 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR is worth keeping your eye on and has features most other SUVs simply do not offer sport SUV buyers.
