2015 Mazda CX-5 Awarded 5-Star Safety Rating

The 2015 Mazda CX-5 has earned the highest rating of five stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). This rating is applicable to both the front-wheel drive and the all-wheel drive versions of the car. The Mazda CX-5 has certain safety features which include: anti-lock brakes, daytime running lights, and electronic stability control. The individual breakdown for the rating is as follows: the vehicle earned five stars on the front and side crash tests, and four stars on the rollover crash test. The Mazda CX-5 scored better than its competition which were the 2014 Ford Escape, Honda CR-V, Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, and Toyota RAV4. This 2015 version has not been rated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) yet, but the 2014 version was rated highly by the IIHS for safety and performed well in crash tests.

The NHTSA further fulfills their duties by performing research on driver behavior and traffic safety.

The 2015 Mazda CX-5 is a compact SUV that is available in the three models of Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring. These type of features offered to the car vary by model and version. The CX-5 offers two choices for an engine, a 2.0 or a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder engines. The car can use an automatic or a manual transmission which is a rarity for a SUV. The Grand Touring model features heated front seats, nine speaker audio system, leather, automatic climate control, and automatic windshield wipers.
