BMW Z4 Used Cars

on

BMW Z4 used cars are a very popular European roadster sold here in North America. The BMW Z4 succeeded the BMW Z3 with many more improvements that helped with rear suspension and a small cabin space that many Z3 owners complained about. Even though this is a new generation Z model, it basically kept the same design concept that the Z3 had and this gave it a less than great review when it was introduced to North America. Also this vehicle is one of a few different BMW models made here in North America (South Carolina) and so I wanted to do my research on the BMW Z4 as a used vehicle to look at.

When looking at the BMW Z4’s interior you will notice upgrades for the controls on the dashboard, it now has much more space than its Z3 predecessor. It also has dash panels in full width, with either brushed aluminum or wood as options. Leather seats come standard in the Z-si and leather upholstery is the other standard for the Z-i. Some of the safety features that the Z4 has to offer are Dynamic Stability Control, electronic stability control, knee airbags, antilock brakes, side air bags and a cut off switch for the front passenger airbag.

There are several different fuel statistics for the various models the BMW Z4 has to offer. Both the Z-i and Z-si in earlier models had a fuel rating of 11.6-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 7.6-litres, per 100km, for highway driving. Later models for the Z-i and the Z-si had a fuel rating of 11-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 7-litres, per 100km, for highway driving. The BMW Z-M model had a fuel rating of 14.5-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 9-litres, per 100km for highway driving.

Engine sizes vary for the different models the Z4 has to offer. The BMW Z- 2.5i model had a 189 horsepower engine and the BMW 3.0i had a 228 horsepower engine. The BMW Z4 (the high performance M model) had a 3.2-litre engine and this produced 338 horsepower.

Let’s look at some of the pros and cons of the BMW Z4 as a used vehicle:

1- Many Z 4 owners complain that the electric power steering does not provide enough power to the steering.
2- It was given a €good€ rating by an online consumer watch dog as a used vehicle.
3- It got a four star rating by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for a frontal crash test done to it.

I hope this helps if your thinking of looking at BMW used cars like the Z3 roadster.
