The new 2013 Honda CR-V is here to Rule The Roads
Honda has quietly replaced its most critical global model the CR-V. This new CR-V will be built in Swindon and is the fourth-generation of the popular SUV. It has sold more than five million units in 160 countries since its launch in 1995. The new model offers improved efficiency and refinement. Honda has also introduced a front wheel drive model with a new petrol engine with a front wheel diesel likely to follow suit later.
There are two engines available right now with an option of 153bhp 2.0-litre petrol and 148bhp 2.2-litre diesel. There are four basic specifications with S for base models and EX for top spec models. The drive in the new CR-V is uncomplicated and relaxing. It is loaded with safety tech; it has an Econ button that maximizes the air-con for efficiency and when it is being driven economically it highlights with green lights. This function has adjusts throttle response in the petrol version. This high tech aside but the comfortable ride, lots of space and the ease of use are the main features of the new CR-V and these features attract buyers.
The seats are lower and further from each other and this give it an airy feel by its class standards. The boot capacity has increased by 147 litres to 589 litres with seats up and 1669 litres seats folded. The inside is very quiet due to the refinement mentioned. The diesel motor wasnEUR(TM)t audible at all on urban routes or the motorway. The wind noise on our car was also limited and some of it came from the panoramic glass roof.
The heavily upgraded 2.2 i-DTEC motor does a solid job. It gives you 50.4mpg and 149g/km CO2 emissions. It is also competitive in the efficiency matching the 2.0-litre BMW motor in the X3. The strongest asset of the CR-V is its dynamics, overall comfort, ease of use and practicality. There is enough space at the front and back and it can make a great family car. Honda is the reliability champion so that will most definitely play a part in the appeal of the CR-V buyers. The CR-V has a top speed of 118mph with 0-62mph of 9.7 seconds. This all new 2013 Honda CR-V is here to rule the roads and this British built car will go on sale in UK in October. This new Honda CR-V is a perfect balance between a car and a SUV.
