The Porsche Boxster – A Two-Seater That Is Incredible

First introduced in 1996, the Porsche Boxster is reputed to be one of the best roadsters worldwide when you consider its road handling capabilities. The Boxster is still an extremely powerful vehicle with great speed and has only been given minor interior changes and horsepower upgrades through the years. With their popular designs, Porsche usually maintains the same appearance for an extended period of time.

A second-generation Boxster with even more power was launched in 2005 but remained in step with Porsche’s typical design structure. It looks like a Porsche Spyder but contains two seats with a mid-engine and six cylinders as its previous version did. The construction and electronics of the latest Boxster are still over 50% borrowed from the 911 Carrera. The 2005 features considerably more force than the 2004 version due to alterations of the torque and increased horsepower. The 2005 Boxster S was practically an identical match to the top of the line Porsche 911 Carrera with its ability to accelerate and easily drive at top speeds.

There is no other car that can perform such a distinctive trombone-like wail with its exhaust as the Boxster. It is deemed an astonishing fact because the engine is a miniature version of the Carrera’s six-cylinder. A five-speed manual transmission tends to be customary with the Boxster but may be upgraded to a six-speed if you wish. It may also be outfitted with the Porsche-designed automatic transmission, the five-speed Tiptronic, which is superb. It is the consequence of an upcoming trend in which the driver has the ability to manually shift an automatic vehicle. The Boxster isn’t regarded as an opulent car but it definitely has only the best in interior and exterior features.

The previous car had been criticized for its cut-rate look, but the interior has been upgraded some since then. Featuring an updated gearshift and imitation titanium paneling, the center console is much improved. The new car has much better car seats, with their body-shape as well as a lot better support. The Boxster has a small trunk in the rear of the car, and an additional, larger one under the front hood, so carrying luggage is not a problem. The electric convertible top which can easily open and close at speeds up to 30 mph is one of the more enjoyable features of the Boxster. Heated glass makes up the rear window and the roof top is constructed from three layers of sound-muffling padded cloth that will hold up in all sorts of weather.

Referred to as a mid-engine car, the Boxster’s six-cylinder engine will be found to the back of the seats just before getting to the rear axle. It’s not possible to search under the hood to access it, because you won’t find it there. If you’d like to view the engine, you will have to look from underneath. The terrific thing about having the engine at the car’s center is better weight distribution. This presents the Porsche Boxster its status for top-notch handling.
