The 2009 Cadillac XLR falls under the category of luxury class roadsters and is made available in two models – the entry level model and the Platinum Edition model. Both the variants come with the retractable hard roof. The new XLR comes with the V8 engine 4.6 liter that produces 381 horse power of energy and torque of 401 lb-ft.
Both the models in XLR come with the 6-speed automatic transmission. The fuel economy of the XLR is 24 miles per gallon on the highway roads and 15 miles per gallon in the city roads. The vehicle is released as a competitor to the likes of Jaguar XK, BMW 650i, Porsche 911 Cabriolet and the Mercedes Benz SL550.
The XLR entry level model comes with 18 inches tires, keyless ignition, 8-way powered seats and Bose sound system, while the Platinum model comes in different colors with the Platinum badge pasted on the vehicle.
The other features in the vehicle are stability control system, anti lock brakes and the parking sensors that warn the driver at the time of backing the vehicle. Whenever the brakes are applied suddenly, the vehicle can be brought to a complete halt, if it is being driven at the speed of 60 miles per hour or lesser.
As the interior region in the vehicle is made with the black leather, it has a very nice visual appeal. The other interior features provided in the vehicle include the improvised navigation system, greater number of switches on the dashboard, and few more minor changes.
