Best Holden Releases of 2010

on

Holden, the Australian auto manufacturer, has seen a number of excellent 2010 models released this year. All of Holden’s models, from the subcompact Barina to the Captiva SUV, received a five-star safety rating from ANCAP, and many of them have seen excellent reviews in the press. In the long-running Holden-Ford feud, Holden has clearly held its own in 2010. Here’s a recap on some of the standout favourites:

* Holden Barina – The subcompact Barina has seen its best year since 2007, with much improved fuel economy and a more powerful engine. This puppy can turn on a dime, go from 0 – 100 km/h in seconds, and is just generally fun to drive. It’s important to note that the Barina Spark, one of Holden’s newest models, was an exciting addition to the line up for people interested in buying a super compact “city car” with impressive fuel economy.

* Holden Cruze – The change to diesel for the compact Holden Cruze proved worthwhile, as it saw improved sales figures and better reviews with the 2010 model. The epitome of class both inside and out, the Cruze is the perfect car for cruising around town or country.

* Holden Commodore – The flagship of the Holden brand, the Commodore has always been a mighty beast. The 2010 version is no different, with a V6 engine and a beefy, muscular exterior, you’ll feel like the king of the road while you ride around in this car. The Holden Commodore was among Australia’s best-selling cars throughout the 2010 year, which is sure to give Holden fans something to crow about.

* Holden Caprice – Holden’s V8 full-size model also saw success in the 2010 market. This luxury model is sure to please fans of European luxury muscle cars, with powerful performance and styling. Luxury performance elements include anti-lock brakes (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Electronic Brake Assist, and Traction Control, so you always feel safe while you (figuratively) strut down the road.

* Holden Captiva – Holden’s Captiva SUV saw surprising success throughout the year in the typically hard-to-please SUV market. As the best-selling SUV during 2010, reviewers attribute its strong showing to its improved fuel economy, especially crucial as it allows drivers to have the muscle of a sports utility vehicle without the heavy price at the pump.
