Being a subsidiary of the world-renowned VW Group, Audi also release their own line of top quality vehicles in the market like Audi A4. This car company has been a known carmaker in the industry due to the cars the produce in the market.
Audi A4 was first released in 1994 and this line is still produced up today. Since Audi is a part of the VW Group, this car release also followed the same platform used on VW cars specifically its B platform. Audi A4 now has four generations that caught the attention of car enthusiasts worldwide.
This car make is known as a compact executive car. This means that it has an executive look but is smaller than the widely known executive cars in Europe. But even with this design, it still looks great for daily use of car owners.
The first generation of Audi A4 is called the B5 series which was launched in November 1994. It’s available in two different body styles to meet the users’ needs. Its body style is 4-door sedan and 5-door Avant, which is a wagon-type vehicle for more space at the back area. Audi A4 B5 engines are also available in petrol and diesel engines but with three different types of transmission. This series was in production until 2001.
In 2000, Audi A4 was produced in B6 series that also has similarities with its predecessor model. It comes in two engine types and manual and automatic transmission. What makes this series remarkable is the production of its convertible model or called the Audi A4 Cabriolet. Cabriolet’s has its 2006 model while the other makes were produced up to 2005 models.
Audi A4 B7 was produced in 2004 up to 2008. Just like its predecessor, B7 series available in sedan, Avant, and Cabriolet body style. Engines also come in petrol and diesel types. Unlike the previous makes, this series has more diesel engine options offered in the market. It also has three types of transmission choices. Even after launching the next series, B7 was restyled in order to prevent it from getting inactive in the market. Model years available are 2005 up to 2008 while the convertible comes in 2007 and 2008 models.
In 2008, Audi released the Audi A4 B8 series. But in comparison to its B6 and B7 series, B8 doesn’t come with convertible body style. Audi cling to its usual sedan and Avant body style but compensated by providing four transmission types for the automobile market. Its engines are also available in petrol and diesel but with fewer options for each type. This series was in producing since 2008 up to present and available in 2009 and currently models.
Without a doubt, Audi has challenged the market by coming up with various Audi A4 series that will suit consumers who would like to experience executive vehicles but at its compact form. Audi definitely make a marked in the automobile industry with this series together with the other vehicles they produced in the market.
