€ More design improvements that are aimed at producing €significant weight savings,€ while helping to offset new Mustang performance enhancing offerings that include an independent rear suspension, more powerful braking and a lighter overall vehicle for improved fuel savings.
€ The new 2015 Mustang features high-tech design aimed at exceeding the government’s new crash safety standards. For example, the vehicle features new safety seats and a hollow rear stabilizer that is based on €intelligent design€ methods to not only keep the Mustang’s weight down, but to make the vehicle overall safer.
€ With a base curb weight of just 3,524 pounds for the new 2015 Mustang EcoBoost fastback, Ford engineers say this means an increase in range from six pounds to 87 pounds for both the GT fastbacks and V6 models.
€ The EcoBoost fastback model also boasts 52 percent of its weight over the axle at the front of the car, and an impressive 48 percent on the real axle. This translates to a more productive mass on the Mustang’s front wheels, while more overall horsepower.
