The Porsche Panamera was a radically new model for the German sports car manufacturer. Prior to the new four door coupe, Porsche had unveiled its Cayenne SUV that caused quite a bit of controversy because it strayed away from the sports car DNA that the German company was known for. The Panamera has caused a similar controversy, not because of its sports car DNA, but because of its radical new design that is viewed as being very polarizing in the automotive world. There’s no denying its performance for being a four door coupe, and one German tuning company has decided to emphasize this quality by upgrading the engine and chassis while also adding a new set of COR Wheels to add a touch of style.
The standard Porsche Panamera 4S features a naturally aspirated 4.8 liter V8 engine that cranks out an impressive 400 horsepower at 6,500 RPM and 369 lb-ft. of torque with a compression ratio of 12.5: 1. The engine is similar to the more powerful twin turbocharged variant featured in the Panamera Turbo and Panamera Turbo S, but still boasts an impressive amount of power even without the two turbochargers. But the German tuner wanted more power being sent to all four of the COR Wheels so they installed a range of new modifications that would increase power dramatically. The company installed a new dual racing air intake system with carbon fiber construction along with a new lightweight titanium exhaust system to reduce backpressure and provide a motor sports sound. The final stage was a new software optimization tune that was developed using a dynometer for reliability and alters the ignition, timing, fuel injection delivery, and more to send 520 horsepower and 415 lb-ft. of torque to all four COR Wheels.
After the engine was upgraded, changes were made to the chassis so that the car could handle the extra power. The standard suspension setup was modified with new sport springs and an adjustable coilover system that lowers the ride height by 25 mm at the front and rear axle. The coilover system also allows for the damping, bound, rebound, and camber setting to be adjusted to a specific driving setup for better performance on a given track. The standard rim and tire set was also replaced with new lightweight COR Wheels in a 3 piece forged construction. The new wheels were installed in a 10.5 x 20 fitment on both axles and provide a wider fitment than the factory setup for better overall grip and performance.
