Toyota Etios, initially known as EFC or the Entry Family Car, is a series of four door sedan and hatchback cars produced by the Japanese car company Toyota. The car was launched in the year 2010 and has been doing well in the Indian market since then. Toyota displayed both the sedan and hatchback versions of the Etios in the 2010 Auto-Expo held in New Delhi. The Toyota Etios was developed as a concept car mainly for the Indian market. Toyota Etios Sedan has undergone a 200 thousand real world testing in India. Mileage, space, style and price are the factors that are given priority while developing this concept car. The hatchback and sedan are available in both diesel and petrol engines. The 1364 cc diesel engine is equipped with 67 bhp at the rate of 3800 rotations per minute. The petrol engine comes with 1496 cc, which has 88 bhp at the rate of 5600 rotations per minute. The only available gearbox is of 5-speed manual Front Wheel Drive. The car can accommodate five passengers. It also has a power steering for a smooth drive. Toyota Etios is the lightest among this segment of cars. The engine is new, which is not used in any other cars of Toyota. This new engine has been specially built for the Indian roads and it gives a mileage of about 17.5 kilometres per liter.
