Toyota Etios Cross is a makeover version of the earlier Etios and comes with the same ground clearance and mechanics as Toyota’s Liva. One advantage is that the Indian model of Etios Cross will be produced in the country itself and so it will be subject to substantial localization.
The exterior of the Toyota Etios Cross is characterized by a bold front grille with grille guard and fog lamps, tough front and rear bumpers, distinctive side cladding with skid plate, sturdy roof rails, and diamond cut ten spoke alloy wheels, ORVMs with turn indicators and a rear roof spoiler. The overall craggy look of the vehicle is sure to attract the adventurous and young generation car buyers.
The roomy interiors of Etios Cross will have adjustable and comfortable seats with headrests, which are covered by good quality fabric. The dual tone black and beige color scheme with a glossy black and silver finish imparts a rich look to the cabin. It will have practical utilities like cup holders, bottle holders, accessory power outlets, glove box unit, air conditioning unit, music system and an advanced instrument panel. The car will also be packed with a horde of safety and comfort features like power windows and steering, ABS, dual airbags, central locking, child safety locks, fog lights, rear defogger and many more.
The Etios Cross is available with three engine options out of which one is an oil burner. The petrol variant of the car will be powered by a 1.5 liter, 4 cylinders, DOHC 1496 cc petrol engine that can produce a maximum power of 89 BHP and a maximum torque of 132 NM. The diesel variant will have a 1.4 liter, 4 cylinders, SOHC D4D 1364 cc engine that can generate a maximum power of 67 BHP and net torque of 170 NM. Both petrol and diesel engine will be mated to a five-speed gearbox with manual transmission and dual clutch type. The car is expected to deliver a mileage of around 16 kilometers per hour for the petrol engine and 23 kilometers per hour for the diesel variant.
